We, the men and women of the Florida Bibliophile Society, are booklovers from all
walks of life who have been meeting and talking about books since 1983.
We meet at
1:30 p.m. on the third Sunday of each month from September to May. During the summer, we go on "sabbatical"
and check out book haunts far and wide for that special find.
We alternate
the meeting location monthly, meeting either at Heritage Village in Largo, or at the MacDonald-Kelce Library on the University
of Tampa campus.
We have guest speakers, book auctions, annual banquets, and
more. In short, we have fun.
We pay annual dues of $25 each; however, FBS
members who do not reside in the Tampa Bay area pay annual dues of $20 each.
For your dues, you not only form a kinship with fellow booklovers, but receive The Newsletter nine times a year. Membership in the Florida Bibliophile Society also automatically makes you a member of The Fellowship of American Bibliophilic
Societies, and entitiles you to this internatonal organizaton's semi-annual publication, The FABS
Newsletter, which is worth the price of membership alone.
Prospective
members are invited to attend one of our meetings and enjoy the company of other bibliophiles.
