The
Fellowship of American Bibliophilic Societies, or FABS as it is often called, is an organization like-minded member
clubs. Its goal is to keep members informed of news, events, publications, and activities that may be of interest. The FABS Newsletter
is published twice a year to facilitate that goal.
The Florida Bibliophile Society is a member of FABS and entitled to receive the
FABS Newsletter as a local member benefit.
FABS sponsors an annual tour, hosted by one of the major clubs, of 3-5 days of
intensive bibliophilic happenings. Past tours have been to New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and in May
2010 The Book Club of Detroit held a successful gathering of booklovers from around the world. The event organizer in Detroit
was Joan Knoerzter, who also is a snowbird member of the Florida Bibliophile Society.

Some of the larger FABS member clubs, such as
the Caxton Club in Chicago, or The Grolier Club in New York, have noble histories going back decades, some even to the 19th
century. For
